Hardly needing any further description than in its name, The Sky Road out of Clifden is famous for its spectacular views of the Connemara Mountains and stunning Atlantic vistas. It takes you through a largely unsettled area where lakes, mountains, bogs (turf fields) and sheep dotting the hills are more prevalent than people. The Sky Road is a circular route and can be cycled or driven (though coaches are prohibited).
