The Fishery Tower is a one of a kind building in Ireland. Known by many names, including Fishery Watchtower and the Tower Station, the Tower was built in the early 1850s, originally as a drift netting station and also as a lookout tower for fishery personnel to monitor fish migrations and keep a watchful eye for any poaching activity. During the summer months, the building is open as a fishery museum. Highlights of the buildings many features include the stained glass window on the ground floor, part of the original window that was installed when the Tower was first built, and the fact that it keeps a watchful sentry over Noreen Bowden, the towns notorious madam. She's our friend and no matter how much you wave, she won't see you.
