Angling Tour

The West of Ireland offers some of the best angling in Europe and ranks among the world's finest angling destinations. Steeped in tradition, abundant in fish, gushing over with scenic beauty, Ireland's numerous loughs and rivers present an enticing mix of angling experiences.

The great Western Loughs-- Corrib, Conn, and Mask-- are particularly noteworthy fishing venues. Expansive, picturesque, timeless, and chock full of Wild Brown Trout, fishing in these exceptional waters is a rare pleasure indeed. And rivers like the Moy are regarded as some of the most productive salmon and grilse habitat in Europe. Countless lesser known loughs and rivers offer their own reward.

Whether you fancy fishing for Wild Brown Trout, Sea Trout or the elusive wild Atlantic Salmon, you'll relish the angling experience in the West of Ireland. Just Drop Us a Line and we will design an itinerary just for you.

Tour Highlights

Deep Sea Fishing

Whether you're a novice fisherman, an experienced angler, or an enthusiastic sightseer, you can experience the thrills of deep sea fishing in the Atlantic. Signpost Tours offers you the chance to sail and fish off Europe's most scenic and rugged coastline.

Shark Fishing

Hook a Blue Shark, tag the fellow and put it back over the side. Shark fishing is water temperature dependent with 2003 a stunning year whereas 2004 had a shorter season but that applies everywhere. With the Gulf Stream slamming into Ireland's South West coast Blue Shark fishing is very productive.

Game Angling

The quality of game angling in Ireland's Western Fisheries Region is quite exceptional. Visitors fishing for salmon and trout in a natural, undisturbed habitat will enjoy a unique experience. The Western Region is justifiably famous for its stocks of wild brown trout.

Reef Fishing

The season runs from March to mid October and every year boats like the Bluewater in Cliften (see guiding) will have a number of days with over 1000 lbs of fish. A day's drifting over reefs should yield 10 to 15 species and some additional bait could well increase this up to 15 or 20.

Tuna Fishing

Big Game fishing in Ireland is a reality and you can take part in it. Strike rates are rising every season and before long Ireland will be the place to go to catch some of the biggest and fastest fish on the planet. If you are lucky enough to have a hook up you will be in the chair for at least an hour!
