The Heritage at Killenard Golf Club

Killenard, Co. Laois

The Heritage a par 72 Championship course, designed by Seve Ballesteros and Jeff Howes is set in the beautiful rolling countryside of Co. Laois, just one hour from Dublin, with the Slieve Bloom Mountains as a backdrop. It provides a most enjoyable experience for golfers of all standards.

The Clubhouse at Heritage is a magnificent focal point for the range of golfing and social activities available to members and guests. What's experienced first, upon entering, is the warm ambiance that makes a Heritage a great place to visit and play golf.

Five lakes and a stream that meanders through the course brings water into play on 10 holes. 98 beautifully shaped bunkers and 7,000 trees adorn the landscape, which is very gently undulating without any climbing involved.

A variety of tees allow the course to be played from 5,747 to 7,319 yards.

All of the above components guarantee a majestic golfing day at The Heritage in Killenard, which will be crowned by a most enjoyable après golf experience in the palatial Clubhouse.

The Heritage at Killenard has been selected by Golf World (June 2005) as one of the best new golfcourses (parkland or links) in Great Britain and Ireland.

Our Take

This very upscale course, opened in 2004 and co-designed by Seve Ballesteros and Jeff Howes, is Ballesteros's first venture in Ireland. A 'world class luxury hotel', coupled with leisure centre and spa, is now open on the property, as is the Seve Ballesteros Golf School.
