Irish Pub Golf Championship

Friendly Competition on
the Links of West Ireland

Overview Itinerary Courses Accommodations Details Enquire

This September American golfers will descend on Ireland with fierce pride and fire in their bellies. But their names won’t be Woods and Michelson, but rather O’Malley and Malone. And the courses on which they’ll do battle will have a slightly different air than prestigious K Club in Kildare.

From 26 August through 3 September, forty American golfers will descend on the wild and wooly links courses of Ireland’s West, for the first annual Irish Pub Golf Championship. Ten teams of four, representing pubs from as far New York to Boston and Chicago will wear the colors of their local Irish pub and square off on Irish soil for this first-of-its-kind golf tournament.
The week-long event is designed to test golfers on many fronts. Over three days of tournament play, competition will be fierce, as players vie for bragging rights and a coveted trophy, courtesy of Galway Crystal.

Competitors meddle will also be tested by six superb links courses, including such underrated gems as Carne Golf Links, Enniscrone Golf Club, and Westport golf Club. Golfer will do battle with the elements of wind, perilous tall grass and cratered bunkers that make Irish links golf legendary the world over. It's a style of golf with which parkland golfers from the States are largely unfamiliar. Most golfers who visit Ireland are thrilled to rediscover such adventure in their sport.
