Pick up at Shannon Airport at 13.00. Travel north to explore The Burren.
Transfer to Lisdoonvarna in Clare for one night.
Our first walk will be at the The Cliffs of Moher. Enjoy relative solitude walking along the cliffs towards Hag's Head. On the grassy bank at the lower cliff, look out for puffins.
Distance: 3.5 km, 2 miles.
Meet with Maryangela, our local expert guide for the day.
Visit sites of botanical, geological and archaeological interest. Rare and spectacular plants occur in abundance. Orchids grow everywhere in the Burren and 23 out of the 27 Irish species are to be found here.
This will include walking in two separate parts of the Burren with a break for lunch.
Distance: 16 km, 10 miles (option of 8 km, 5 miles)
Walk the Burren's highest point, Slieve Elva.
Travel to the Connemara Region and Joyce's Country.
Our base for the next three nights is Clifden Town, known as the "Jewel in Connemara."
Distance: 14 km, 6 miles.
Visit Inis Mor, the largest of The Aran Islands.
Walk to Dun Aonghasa, a massive semi-circular ring fort lodged on the edge of cliffs that drop 300 ft into the Atlantic.
Distance: 16 km, 10 miles (option of 11 km).
Ferry back to Rossaveal and then head to Clifden in the heart of Connemara.
If you wish, you can use this day as a rest day. Enjoy the shops and cafes in the pretty village of Clifden.
We recommend renting a bicycle and cycling The Sky Road.
Alternatively, there will be a guided walk at Omey Island.
Distance: 19.3km (12 miles).
Leaving Clifden today, we will stop for morning coffee at Kylemore Abbey.
We then walk at Killary Harbour, one of the most enchanting walks in Ireland.
Distance: 10 km, 6 miles.
We must say Goodbye to the West of Ireland and return to Shannon Airport.
