Connemara, South Mayo & The Aran Islands Itinerary

Day One

  • Tour of Galway City.


  • Galway a Mecca for musicians, artists, actors, young people and tourists alike.


  • Galway's real appeal is its vibrant music scene and Saturday night is probably the best night to enjoy its many bars and traditional pubs as the streets come to life.


Day Two

  • Breakfast. Cycle to the village of Spiddal via the coast road. Onto the picturesque village of Oughterard.


  • Ferry across Lough Corrib to Inchagoill Island. Guided tour of 5th and 12th century ruins of Saint Patrick's Church and The Church of the Saint, respectively.


  • Ferry to Ashford Castle. Short cycle to your final destination, the picturesque Cong Village. Explore the breathtaking scenery of Connemara and Cong Abbey where The Quiet Man was filmed.


Day Three

  • Breakfast. Cycle the Lough Mask Loop You will navigate the shores of Lough Mask to Ballinrobe and onto the charming town of Partry.


  • Cycle over the Partry Mountains through Tourmakeady on to Maumtrasna, back through picturesque Finny, into the village of Clonbur before returning to Cong.


Day Four

  • Breakfast. Cycle to Leenaun via Cornamona, along the banks of Lough Corrib, through Maam and down into the sleepy village of Leenane. This cycling route is arguably the most scenic in Connemara.


  • There are several short cycles from Leenaun, including one to Rosroe Quay and one to Aasleagh Waterfall.


Day Five

Day Six

  • Breakfast. Cycle the Bog Road through hundreds of tiny lakes and watch out for the ghosts as the locals claim it to be a haunted path!!


  • Continue along this wonderfully remote road to Screeb and south to Carraroe - your final destination for the day. Check out the beautiful Coral Beach in Carraroe.


Day Six

  • Cycle to Rosaveal where you will board a boat for Inis Mor.


  • You can also visit Dun Aengus, one of Ireland's most spectacular pre-historic sites.


  • The day ends in the windswept village of Doolin on the far side of Galway Bay.


Day Seven

  • Breakfast. Cycle to Rosaveal where you will board a ferry that will take you to the Aran Islands.


  • On Inishmore you can also visit Dun Aengus, one of Ireland's most spectacular pre-historic sites.


  • There are also a number of secluded beaches that are ideal for swimming. You will then take the Ferry to Rosaveal. Transfer to Galway. Final nights accomodation in Galway.
